Leland Fire & Rescue teams, along with Kannapolis Fire and Police, conducted search and rescue operations in Bat Cave, a community near Chimney Rock in Western North Carolina. The teams hiked 13 miles with significant elevation change, and their initial deployment has been wrapped up. They will continue their efforts today, likely evacuating more people.
