OMGOSH! I wish I had more pictures , but what a ride!! 8 hrs almost of just getting in and out of Burnsville! Trees fell, friends were made, gas was poured into many tanks, deep hugs from exhausted friends and family, provisions given to many families, even had cash on hand. 🫶🇺🇸 Thanks to all of your generosity. We are going back in tomorrow with more!! Thank you so much everyone. There are so many hurting!! However, I can not begin to tell you how incredible these people of the mountains are. Everyone is your friend, and like me, they never met a stranger. The love and outpouring of Burnsville , NC Bakersville, and all the little towns in between, should inspire us all to be better people. I am incredibly thankful to know them and call them friends and family! 🇺🇸Certain “agencies “ may not really be there, but I can tell you who is!! Almost every county in NC! I met the folks from Oklahoma, and even Missouri! The line men were pouring in from all over, fighting ever falling trees in every direction , yellow jackets, an insurmountable task, and exhaustion ! Citizens risking their lives , to help recover or bring water to their neighbors. These people deserve more than we could ever give them.
