4. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;5. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.7. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.Ephesians 4:4-7 Here is Paul's description of the united Church. We are all of the same body of Christ. There is one Spirit sent to aid us from the Father. We have one hope of salvation in Christ. One invitation from Christ to repent. There is only one Savior. One Father. One baptism as we share Christ's death and resurrection. All are given spiritual gifts according to Christ grace. For there is not one of us that deserves anything from Christ. But the love of Christ for us is shown in His distribution of spiritual gifts to us freely. Because of His unmerited favor. Amen.
