ALL GONE 🌈Devastating that the rainbow bridge along with all the hundreds of plants, have been washed away in the floods from remnants of #HurricaneHelene East Tennessee & Western North Carolina are home to some of the most beautiful parts of our country. 🏔️ “North Carolina’s Lake Lure Flowering Bridge and its Rainbow Bridge features a heartwarming tribute to beloved pets, incredible views of Chimney Rock, and a look at over 700 species of plants and flowers that make up the vibrant garden that spans the bridge. What was a decommissioned bridge that once carried traffic between Lake Lure and Chimney Rock has been turned into the “Flowering Bridge” garden that spans the Rocky Broad River. Walking the bridge now takes you through a flowery wonderland that serves as an official Monarch Waystation, but also to a heartwarming place of remembrance for lost pets. The Rainbow Bridge here is a place where visitors leave collars and tags to honor pets of all kinds who have “crossed the Rainbow Bridge”. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is a nonprofit managed by a number of caring volunteers, and one of the more peaceful and unique places you’ll find in NC.”
