1. Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;2. But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the Father.3. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:4. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.Galatians 4:1-5 Paul compares our spiritual condition as a wealthy child waiting to inherit the father's wealth. He has no access to it till he comes of age. But it is under guardians and stewards. So the law was our guardian. And it's effect on our corrupt nature is that it brought us into bondage to the sins of the world. But in God's time He sent Christ born of a woman to redeem those burdens with sin. That we may receive the adoption as sons. Because Jesus is God, He has the ability to redeem all who are lost. That we could be reconciled back to God's favor as members of His family. Not receiving what we deserve for sin, but receiving God's grace through the sacrifice of Christ. Amen.
