3. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
4. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
5. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
6. Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7. Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
Psalm 85:3-7
The psalmist understood that Christ had removed all God's wrath for sin. Being delivered from judgment by the blood of the Savior. A complete and total work, needing nothing added. All were guilty, but now are covered in Christ's righteousness.
The world was judged and flooded with water. None escaped, but Noah and his family and the animals who repopulated the earth.
The Almighty through Christ restored what was lost to sin. All the iniquity of mankind was laid on the Son.
Only a dead man needs to be revived. All were dead in sin. Only the Creator can make alive those that were dead. Because of God's mercy and grace, we are saved. Amen.
