8. O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
9. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
10. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
11. Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of the power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;
Psalm 79:8-11
Remember not O Lord that sin we were born with. From which flows our corrupt nature. Let thy abundant mercy which you give freely prevent our eternal ruin. Our sins have stripped us of our spiritual strength and we are miserable.
Help us who believe O God. You are the God of our salvation. There is no other. Purge away our sins so we do not face the destruction we deserve. For nothing can cover our sins but the blood of Christ.
The heathen says where is their God? He has abandoned them. He has forsaken them and will not help them. But you have shown you power and holiness. You have removed the punishment we earned. Lord you took all we deserved shedding you blood for our redemption.
Sin made us prisoners of Satan and we were guilty having a sentence of death over us all.
But the greatness of your grace and mercy has set us free. You declared us not guilty and gave us eternal life. Amen.
