20. Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:21. She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,22. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?23. Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.Proverbs 1:20-23 This is a picture of Christ who possessed all wisdom in the creation of all things, and as the Logos, the Word, and wisdom of God, as Savior and Mediator. The crying is the preaching of the Gospel message. In the open where all could hear. Christ called first simple men, men of weak capabilities and shallow understanding. These men were despised as ignorant and illiterate of the law. The leaders and people, scorners of Christ because He was not born rich nor highly educated. His disciples and followers scorned along with His doctrine, miracles, sufferings, and death. Today is much the same. Men hate the knowledge of Christ, the God in Christ, the knowledge of the Gospel, and the truth that is in it. They love the darkness more than the Light. Their sin more than Christ. And I was exactly like that. But I turned at the reproofs of wisdom in the Bible, Christ to the wise will pour out His Spirit, and make known His words. How different my life would have been if I had obeyed earlier in life. I am fortunate I was not destroyed while I committed my transgressions. It took some time, but I am no longer the same person. Truly, you can not read the Bible over 40 times and stay the same. But many will refuse and reject the wisdom of Christ the Lord and shall suffer. It says when destruction comes, they shall call upon Him. But He will not answer. For they lived in their carnal security until death seized them. And the time of their rescue has passed. Think on this. Amen.
