This will be my 3rd time running for Assembly, and I'm actually on two boards already, so people know I won't be this huge disruption to the system, but I will stand my ground on anything it is within my right to do so with. Next, the trick is expanding the influence of my "within my right" as assigned by public opinion through a free and fair election. I title is fine. A "Committee Chair" is cool. But the Assembly has all the power in Skagway and everybody knows it. They can make proposals and bring important potential solutions to the table and access municipal funds via the finance committee to make ideas in to reality. The trick is to get them to think it's their idea. Like expanding utilities out across the bridge so we can start having folks build housing out that way. I've lived and breathed this town for 12 years. That's longer than I stayed in my home town growing up. I know these people and I've heard their anguish. Their cries for fairness and being able to know what tomorrow would bring without being on the edge of collapsing at any given point by some new hardship. I think I got a shot this year. I've been doing a lot of work on myself. I'm getting more and more solid by the day.
