Together in Christ: 'The Kind of Encouragement We All Need' — Colossians 1:3 Sunday, July 28, 2024 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. — Colossians 1:3 NLT Key Thought... This simple sentence provides us with the perfect example of some helpful things we can do to bless and encourage other believers: Pray for them. Give thanks for them. Let them know we are praying and giving thanks for them, and be specific about what we are praying and why we are giving thanks. Emphasize our prayers and thanksgivings for them are ongoing commitments for us. Back up our words to them with reminders of our consistent prayers and thanksgivings for them, and put reminders for ourselves in our calendars of our commitment to them. So, let me encourage us with the following words of Jesus: "Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them." [1] [1] John 13:17. TODAY'S PRAYER Lead me to people, dear Father, who need my encouragement and prayers. Then use me to bless them with regular, consistent, and thankful prayer. Show me how to let them know that I'm praying for them so they know they are not alone in trying to follow Jesus. I pray this in His name. Amen.
