1. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.Psalm 130:1-5 The psalmist out of the deep place of sin, burden by the debt, which no person can cleanse themselves. The psalmist has knowledge of pardon from the Lord. And to Christ, he makes his plea. The Lord who formed the ear also hears us even if we think He does not. In His time, He answers because He hears. Not in our time or way, but in His. If there was no forgiveness, no pardon who could stand before God. All are sinners, all are guilty. The payment is blood. Hebrews 9:22. It is the blood of Christ that is accepted because He lived among men but sinned not. Christ paid our debt and declared us not guilty because He took our punishment on His own body. The psalmist waits on Christ for His salvation and deliverance. We have Christ's promise in the Gospel message that Christ died for our sins, and we are saved and forgiven. Our hope is in His word because Christ is a way maker and a promise keeper. Amen.
