19. Open to me, the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:20. This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.21. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.22. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.23. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.Psalm 118:19-23 The psalmist reveals a picture of Christ speaking to the gates of heaven to open for those redeemed by His blood. This gate of the Lord is Christ the Savior. There is no other way to enter. The psalmist praises the Lord for Christ, has heard his cry, and has become his sure salvation. The religious leaders refused Christ and His wisdom, grace, salvation, and pardon and murdered Him on the cross. His Father has elevated Christ above all others. He is the foundation of our salvation. We will find it nowhere else. The psalmist speaking of Christ, as sent by the Father, was rejected by men. This stone came not from a common quarry but from heaven. The stone said by the psalmist was marvelous that such a precious stone could be rejected. That the stone should be exalted. I am a witness that I refused Christ's ways, but through His mercy, I have been saved from destruction. I now see the beauty of His holiness. The love eternal for a soul that He gave His life. I am grateful for Christ the Lord. Amen.
