1. O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3. And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
Psalm 107:1-6
The psalmist instruction to give thanks to the Lord for He is the author of all that is good. And His mercy extends to all generations.
The redeemed of the Lord know His goodness because of their salvation. Taking them from being slaves to Satan and sin. Where only destruction awaits.
Sinners from every nation are called by Christ to repent. And receive forgiveness and pardon. Christ having removed them from wandering as sheep gone astray.
Spiritually hungry and thirsty, which can only be satisfied with fellowship with the Savior the Son of God.
Sinners in their distress caught in sins web weighed down under the burden of sin. When death and hell become a real terror. Cry out to Christ the Savior, and He at that moment begins to lead them in the right way. Delivering them out of the many distresses that sin brings. Amen.
