1. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
2. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
3. Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
4. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
Psalm 90:1-5
This psalm is written by Moses. The Lord Christ formed the earth and everything in it. From the very beginning, when Adam fell mankind was preserved in Christ.
Christ is God and has been with the Father from everlasting. Having the same nature and perfections as the Father.
The children of Adam are turned to destruction because of sin. Mankind returns to the dust they were made from, and the soul is separated from the flesh.
And again, Christ is with all who believe in Him. Time is against us but has no effect on God. As a watch in the night, 3 to 4 hours. I am 71, and it went by very quickly.
The whole world of the ungodly was carried away by a flood. Yet Christ was there to rescue Noah. And today, Christ is still saving people a place of refuge from destruction like the Ark saved Noah. The time is now to turn to Christ, not a second to waste. For our lives are like grass that springs up in the morning and dries up before the sun sets.
The mercy of Christ is in His sinless life and His death. Where sin and death are defeated. Amen.
