25. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.26. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.27. And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:28. For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.Acts 18:25-28 This man Apollos was a Jewish Christian who became a colleague of Paul. He played an important part in the early development of churches in Ephesus and Corinth. Knowing only the baptism of John and repentance from sin and the coming of Christ as the Messiah. Aquila and Priscilla, companions of Paul, heard him speak and took him aside and told him of Christ's miracles, His death and resurrection. This man convinced that Christ was the Messiah and believed with all his heart, having knowledge of the scriptures convinced the Jews in Greece, that Jesus Christ was the Messiah, the Savior of the world. The importance of the Bible today is that we find Christ in it. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. 35 years of reading the Bible, I have never been tired or bored. I have received wisdom and a love for Christ, I could find nowhere else. Read, believe, and love. Amen.
