HENRY FORDS HEMP CAR!!Did you ever stop and wonder, what exactly could hemp be used for? While most people know its benefits as a potential medicine, dietary supplement, rope and many more......Most people do not know how much more versatile than that!In 1940 henry ford saw the potential in hemp to manufacture cars. But why would he do this? What was going on at the time?Henry envisioned this as a solution to the shortage of steel in 1940. This was due to the second world war as all the steel was often diverted away from the automobile industry to support war.The concept of the hemp car was not one that was thought of straight way. He experimented with many plants and constructed a range of materials through his studies. These plants and natural resources, he used contained more than just hemp. Ford is well known to have possessed fields of soybeans and it's possible this served some purpose towards the organic car.Apart from the metal frame, the car was made from hemp, making it 454 kilos lighter, than steel models.Unfortunately, Fords, concept never took off.The original recipe can not be found. The car was destroyed and after the war ended the idea was left behind as steel was accessible once again. You can find a short video in the comments below of this car.#HenryFord #HEMPCAR
