1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psalm 51:1-5
A good lesson from the psalmist is that he does not run away from God but cast himself at His mercy, which is without measure.
It is the blood of Christ that blots out our sin. There is no other cure.
We must own up to our sin it has been done in God's sight, we can hide nothing from Him.
We are born with sin in us it must be dealt with. Every sin has its own consequences and can not be taken lightly.
Jesus paid the debt to sin with His suffering and His death. Those who love Him will strive to overcome sin's grasp. Amen.
