1. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.2. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. 3. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. 4. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.5. Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.Psalm 36:1-5 The psalmist sees the wicked and knowing that sin was present in himself concluded that the wicked did not fear God. That there was nothing in him to turn to Gods ways. His words flattered him, because he did not see sin to be sin. And his iniquity was that he hated all that was good. His mouth was full of cursing and bitterness. Out of his corrupt heart came all his words. He did not seek to do any good because he had no knowledge of it. He devised evil on his bed instead of sleep. He chooses to walk in darkness and does not hate evil. The mercy of God is without measure. It is available to the wicked, because they have not been consumed in their wickedness. Salvation is to all who will receive it. The grace of pardon extends to all. But let them not turn back to the folly of sin. But be filled with the Spirit of God. Amen.
