19: And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.20. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.21: And when they had preached the gospel to the city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, 22. Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:19-22 Paul, while preaching the Gospel message to the Gentiles, Paul see a man who had never walked being crippled from birth. Paul speaks to him to get up and walk, and he does. And these Gentiles want to make a sacrifice to Paul as a god. And he tells he is just a man like them. The healing came from Christ the Lord. Then certain men from the Jewish nation show up and convince the Gentiles that Paul and his company are liars and for them not to hearken to them. Now, these men who called Paul a god stoned him, then dragged him out of the city and left him for dead. Paul's friends surround him weeping, planning his burial, and Paul stands up and walks into the city in perfect health. Now Paul fortified the Gentiles that were converted against the contradictions and blasphemies of the Jews. Telling them that through much tribulation, we enter into the kingdom of God. Nothing has changed in over 2000 years. Being a follower of Christ is not easy. Amen.
