37. But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.38. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:39. And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.40. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;41. Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.Acts 13:37-41 The author makes it very clear that God raised Jesus from the grave alive, and His body did not decompose. Paul is expressing the benefits of receiving Christ. Forgiveness of all sins, never to be remembered, blotted out forever with Christ's blood. Christ has paid the debt for sin in full. And we by faith in Him are justified, just as if we never sinned. The law of Moses could not do this. The law had no mercy or grace. There was only guilty or innocent in judgment. Paul is speaking to the descendants of Abraham, saying in Christ only there is salvation and pardon, and rejecting Christ is removal of all hope of eternal life. These men refused the words of life. The Gospel message was despised by them. God does not sentence mankind to eternal destruction. They choose it for themselves, for without faith, it is impossible to pleace God. Amen.
