1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:1-5 The prophet Isaiah wrote this over 500 years before the birth of Christ. And today, the words are still fresh. Who has believed the report of the Gospel message and whose lives have been changed. In Christ's time very few people knew His as the Messiah. He has no form or attraction. To the people He came to from birth till His death. He did not come from rich parents, and He worked with Joseph as a carpenter and did not look like a King or Savior. And so in our time, Christ is rejected and despised. Men love their sin more than Christ. At the time of His death He was so beaten and abused that they hid their faces from Him. Yet His love for us never failed. His body was broken for our bodies to be healed. And at His death, He carried the full wrath of God for the sins of the world, right up to His death. All this was for us because Jesus was sinless. He paid with His life what we should have received. And His blood is what removed the stain of sin from us. I once was part of this world doing everything I wanted, but I never had peace, and was full of guilt. I would not change the experience I have had with Christ. And I am glad I am not the same person. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
