6. The Lord
executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7. He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psalm 103:6-10
The psalmist speaks from experience of the deliverance from oppression. Because God is righteous in all His judgments.
Moses learned first hand at the mouth of the Lord, the ways of God. He is pure and holy, and acts in the same manner that He expects from us.
Moses learned of God's creation from God and no other. Genesis to Deuteronomy the first five books were written by Moses.
Moses and the psalmist were acquainted with the mercy and gracious manner of God towards His people. The very act of salvation is God's mercy in action. Even to wicked men He gives time to repent. Making redemption, regeneration, pardon, and eternal life, available to all.
To chide is to rebuke and it is always for sin. And towards His people His anger is but a moment for He remembers we are but dust, but His anger is not pasified against the wicked.
By our own experience we know God has not dealt with according to our sins or rewarded us according to our iniquities. For even one sin the judgment is hell. But Christ has bore the sins of the world and the chastisement, and punishment, and our debt to sin is paid in full by Christ's blood. Amen.
