People probably think this map shows a flat earth. It doesn't. It is an azimuthal equidistant projection map. There are many projections that are useful for different purposes. I'm pretty sure flat earthers have no idea why all maps need projections and won't believe it anyway.
But for those who are interested, a projection is a way of putting a globe on a flat piece of paper. They are all distorted in different ways.
