1. Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.2. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.3. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.4. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.5. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?Psalm 85:1-5 Here the psalmist speaks of God's favor to His people bringing them back from their captivity. In a spiritual sense from sin and destruction from Satan and the punishment from violating the law of God. God has taken the iniquity of us all and laid it on His Son Jesus. Never to be brought to remembrance, for God has placed all iniquity behind His back and can only see a people washed in soul cleansing blood of His Son. Christ has removed the wrath of God for sin and replaced it with grace, pardon and forgiveness. We have been turned from wickedness towards a restoration purchased by Christ. Will God be angry with those in Christ? No. Christ work is perfect without fault. And God through Christ the Lord has received us and every generation who has submitted to Christ. And they shall enjoy the reward prepared by Christ which shall never ever end. Amen.
