34. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35. Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?38. Then Peter said them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:34-38 Peter is still speaking under the power of the Holy Ghost. Saying David spoke prophetically about Christ as He ascended into heaven. Jehovah the Father says, to Jehovah the Son, sit at my righthand till all your enemies are subdued. Satan, sin, antichrist, unrepentant sinners, all the powers of darkness, and the last enemy death. The name Jesus means, Yahweh saves, this was Christ's mission, Christ is not a name but a title, meaning Messiah, Anointed One, chosen by God. Now those hearing their hearts touched by the Spirit, ask what can we do? The answer Peter gives is the same answer that has been redeeming sinners for over 2000 years. Repent, there is no salvation until you turn from sin. And without the Holy Ghost, you will never succeed in your walk with Christ. Peter and the other apostles were hiding in the upper room until they were filled with the Spirit, and now they have come out boldly to preach salvation through Christ the Lord. Amen.
