27. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.29. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.30. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:31. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.John 20:27-31 The apostle John has documented the meeting of the resurrected Jesus and the disciple Thomas. Jesus tells him to feel the nail wounds and place your fingers in my side. Now Thomas who had doubted the testimony of the others that the Lord had risen from the grave. Without exploring the wounds exclaims, my Lord and my God. Thomas knows Christ as Lord but now is convinced He is God because He has risen from death. Christ does not reprimand Thomas for his unbelief but encourages him to believe. For without believing, you can not do the work of Christ. Doubt renders the word unprofitable and leads men away from Christ. In a soft touch, Christ tells Thomas you believe because you see. Blessed are those who believe but have not seen. A good representation of us, the same gospel has been told to the majority of us. But in few, has it taken root to perform the transformation of a renewed soul. I must admit it took many years for the change of character and the renewed mind to exhibit itself in my daily life. I firmly believe what I read as fact in the 750,000 words that make up the KJV Bible. I also learn from it every day. All who believe will have everlasting salvation, security from condemnation, and spiritual peace, joy, and comfort. Amen.
