Men are lazy and selfish.
I may have found -one- reason that keeps reinforcing that momentum. Procrastination / poverty has its rewards. The side mounted greenhouse that I started last fall will be moved to the East / entrance. I am now planning to drop a second (meat door plastic) insulation wall on the north, possibly with some sort of wall attached clinging plant, inside the barrier.
I am also planning to move and insulate some of the heat pump collection and exhaust ducting for a significant efficiency gain. The largest heat retention improvement will have to be the responsible waterproofing and insulation addition for the roof, however. While it is being improved, I also need to see if the water leakage has gutted the blown in insulation as well.
I also will gain a boost from the fire pit (made from a scrapped, stainless steel, dryer drum) close to the front door, that will be used as a charcoal heat source for said heat pump 'plumbing' this winter, with a second air insulation space at the door. The heat will be able to be moved into the interior, with the smoke and carbon monoxide/ dioxide kept outside. I also have a terminal problem with squirrels. Although I have a co2 pistal (22 will just make b that I don't need to deal with), some plants will NOT survive outside a containment structure. The greenhouse assembly proposed will be simple and secure to move air, but not animals. I will use the original doors of the cargo container for some sides of the greenhouse entry, with whatever glass panels I can get to fit in the sliding cover framework.
The low value heat sources I am tapping are solar, fire pit (wood), and waste insulation leaks, without the whole assembly becoming a architect's favorite plumbers' nightmare, as is featured -regularly- on “This Old House”... I may have to add another 4” to the top of the handrail on the deck to keep code with 2x4 there also. I haven't measured that yet.
