Biden rarely described former President Trump as a "convicted felon" and accused him of being "mentally deranged" after the 2020 election. Political circles described Biden's move as a sign that the strategy of campaign propaganda has been adjusted and he has begun to attack Trump in a simpler and more direct direction.
Biden attended a fundraising event in Greenwich, Connecticut on the 3rd, saying that this was the first time in the country's history that a former president convicted of a felony was running again, and that his opponent's frequent attacks on the judicial system had an even greater impact on the country. Biden also said that "something happened to Trump" after the 2020 election, "driving him crazy", so the opponent is now "mentally deranged".
Trump was found guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the hush money case. On the 30th, he told reporters outside Trump Tower in New York that the hearing was just a "scam" and the entire process was controlled by Biden and his allies. Biden responded on the same day, criticizing Trump's remarks as "reckless and dangerous". The defendant may oppose the verdict, but cannot attack the judicial system, otherwise it would be irresponsible. Biden also reiterated this point at the fundraising event on the 3rd.
It was revealed that before Trump was convicted, Biden's campaign team had considered increasing the intensity of the attack, such as publicly describing Trump as a "convicted felon", but considering that the Trump camp has repeatedly accused the case of judicial suppression, Biden's side chose to be cautious and avoid commenting on the litigation process to avoid being caught by Trump.
In an interview on the 2nd, Trump said that he did not mind going to jail or being under house arrest, but conservative people may not be able to tolerate it, and opposition may "erupt" again.
It is generally expected that Trump will appeal in the hush money case. He is still facing three other criminal cases, namely the Georgia election interference case, the Department of Justice's confidential documents case and the election interference case.
