12. When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. 13. Have mercy upon me, I LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me from the gates of death: 14. That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. 15. The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. 16. The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. Psalm 9:12-16 God shall never forget those whose blood has been shed by the wicked. And He alone shall demand satisfaction for it. Especially the blood of the righteous. The psalmist has a solid relationship with the Savior, putting all his trust in Christ even his own life. Jerusalem represents the church and the psalmist like us rejoices in Christ's salvation and is not ashamed to admit it to all. The heathen mentioned here are those who by their own actions and refusal of Christ have set themselves on a path of destruction. The wicked who would have caught their prey in a pit, shall fall into it themselves, the net they laid out as a trap, they shall be entangled in it. This is the judgment of our Lord, on the antichrist, and every enemy of Christ. But His people shall receive the promise of eternal life. And Christ was here, He knows it is not easy, He has experienced more suffering than any man will. And that is why your reward is so great. Amen.
