22. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man be holding his natural face in a glass:
24. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26. If any man among you seem to be religious, and brideth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James 1:22-27 ??
Those with spiritual understanding, will hear the word of God, with gladness, receiving into their heart, and from the heart obey it.
Hearers only, will never put the word into practice, deceiving themselves that just the hearing, would save them.
As one who takes a quick look in a mirror, and departs, forgetful of imperfections, or blemishes, so is one who hears the word, and the excellencies of Christ, and passes on, not concerned to put in practice, what they hear.
But the hearer of the Gospel, that puts in action, what they have learned, and heard, shall be happy, and at peace, though the world be in disarray, all about them.
Any who boast about their religion, how great they are, and gives no care about how they injure others with their speech, their religion is useless, with no reward.
A religion without hypocrisy, is to be charitable, where there is love to God, there is love to His saints, and to separate oneself, from the vices of the world. Amen.
