Unstoppable! 'Immediate Obedience' — Acts 10:7-8
Thursday, May 30, 2024
As soon as the angel was gone, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, one of his personal attendants. He told them what had happened and sent them off to Joppa.

Key Thought
I love that Cornelius didn't keep his vision of an angel to himself. He risked losing the loyalty and respect of his servants and his attendant because he wanted them to know what God was doing in his life. Devout leaders attract devoted people who respect them and want to follow them. However, if devout leaders don't invite others into their circle of faith, revelation, and action, how will those people grow into faithful leaders who will accomplish even more for the Lord? Leaders must be like Jesus, Barnabas, and Paul: They must invite others into their world of faith and leadership so they are in a good place for the Lord to equip them to be his leaders in the future.
Today's Prayer
O God, open my eyes, mind, and heart to others who long to grow in Christ and learn how to serve, lead, and inspire still others. Use me with family and friends to encourage and help equip them to be willing to take risks for you and to serve and lead your people into your desired future for us. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
