39. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus come forth.
John 11:39-43
The apostles is an eye witness to this event. And being in the Gospel of John it is true. For the word of God is a shield to believers, but foolishness to all who perish.
After Jesus spoke Lazarus came forth alive, being in the tomb for days, it is proof he was really dead, and by the word of Christ he was made alive. If Jesus had said come forth all the dead would have rose. Therefore Christ called him by name.
If you read down farther you will see that many Jews came to believe because they saw with their own eyes what Jesus did. But some ran to the Pharisees and told them what they saw. And Caiaphas the high priest says, Ye know nothing at all, it is expedient for us, that one man die for the people.
So for this miracle that brought many to redemption, Jesus has been targeted for death, by the people He came to save.
And the world will not treat us any better, than they treated our Savior, King, Redeemer, the Son of the living God. Amen.
