1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.2. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.5. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.Psalm 121:1-5 The psalmist is looking up to the hills of Zion where the ark of God was kept as a symbol of God's presence. Salvation, deliverance, and help in time of need can not be found in the hills where the ungodly have placed their idols. They can do no good or evil they powerless and cannot create anything. Our help comes from God, who made everything. Those anchored in Christ will not be moved off the narrow path easily. The God of all Creation does not sleep or get weary, every regenerated soul is under His watchful eye. The Lord can be trusted if you are in His shadow who is able to do you harm. You must be very close to someone to be in their shadow. And you can never be too close to the Shepherd of our souls. Amen.
