Cartoon 05/04/2024 Donald Trump has requested that Judge Aileen Cannon dismiss the Mar-a-Lago case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Trump’s legal team denounced the case as ‘selective and vindictive.’ That’s exactly what it is. All of the cases against Trump are the same—complex, Rube Goldberg-like legal inventions designed to keep Trump off the campaign trail, or even put him in prison. And now we’ve learned Smith’s team has admitted that key evidence in Trump’s classified documents case was altered or manipulated! It’s time to throw out this case—and all current cases against Trump. They amount to nothing more than election interference by Biden’s DOJ, which has become grossly politicized. It’s time to restore our justice systems and keep political bias out of it, although it will be tempting for Trump’s DOJ to mete out revenge to all those Democrats who used dirty legal tricks against him. — Ben Garrison
