2. The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.3. Glorious things are spoken of the O city of God. Selah. 4. I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. 5. And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.6. The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.Psalm 87:2-6 The psalmist speaks prophetically in that Zion is a picture of Christ's church, which He is the foundation. He loves all who come and worship in truth. Glorious things are spoken of the church of Christ, He being Jehovah Shammah, meaning the Lord is there, the Gospel, salvation, prophesy of end times, the conversion of Jews and Gentiles. Christ will mention that the ungodly in these nations born there put their trust in Him and received salvation and eternal life. And of Zion, the picture of the church that, this and that man received the new birth, becoming a new creature in Christ. In the latter day, Christ shall establish the church, uniting its members, removing false teaching and errors, and heresy and divisions. The Lord, on the last day when He numbers His people out of Israel, that those that pass under the rod, will be those regenerated by the Gospel, and not because they were born in Jerusalem. Amen.
