5-17-'24, WBR Live, “Daily Constitution”, “Hillbilly Friday”, (pic on wimkin) Just a quick update on the guitar / harmonics experiment. The new pic will give everyone better idea of the size and added complexity of the construction. Again, I sure -everything- about it can be improved. Plenty of meat left on the bone for this one. I got the strings and tuner in, just to find out how tenuous the string length and tension are to produce any where close to the quality required. It looks like I will have to mix old (corroded) strings with the new ones (not particularly sized for the assembly in question) to bring the range into some kind of reliability and consistency in the sound. I will probably increase the height of the fret to keep string clearance from complicating contact at the top of the neck, and the particular tune (C, Blues, F, whatever) will be found according to the size and playability of the neck (can be altered BTW). Reducing water heating/storage cost to pay for the cow next week.
