No one will ever be able to give you what you have not learned to give you. Because as long as you don't give it to yourself, you will continue to feel lack and emptiness instead of satisfaction. What the other gives you is always temporary. What you give yourself is permanent. It is not about selfishness or insensitivity, but about coherence and authentic love (for you and for the other). They taught you to feel empty, not to love you, to believe that you were incomplete, alone and helpless. They taught you that you need to join the other and reproduce yourself is urgent, but no one taught you that loving and valuing you is the most important thing. That no one can really fill your void because only you can do it. That's why you're unhappy.
