Learning to be alone is not about being alone. Learning to be alone is about knowing how to be okay when you don't have someone around. It's about not being dependent on someone else to be happy. It's about filtering out companies and loves and not accepting anyone's presence just for fear of being alone.
Knowing how to be alone is not, and has never been, about not opening up to people and not living with the world. It's about taking time to be with you, feeling the pleasure of your own company. If you rediscover, if you love, if you take necessary breaks from this contact with other people and hearts.
There is a special power in people who know how to be alone. They exude the confidence and strength of those who have the reins of their own lives in their hands. Who knows and is not afraid. Of those who are not afraid of silence or of internal dialogues with their own soul.
Loneliness when healthy is liberating. Yes, because the loneliness of those who isolate themselves because they are afraid of the world is pathological. We need each other. But we also need to learn to be in our own company and enjoy it.
It is in moments of solitude that we get to know each other, rebuild ourselves, learn to love each other and understand that good company is the one that adds us...
