1. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.2. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.3. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.4. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.5. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.Luke 22:1-5 The religious leaders at this time meet together to plan the death of Christ. This being the Passover they have no idea that their planning to murder the true Passover sacrifice, the Son of the living God, Jesus. Christ spoke in the open while they planned in secret fearing the people whose numbers were increasing, who followed Christ. At this time, Satan is corrupting the heart of Judas to move against and betray Christ. This is one of the twelve who went with the seventy and healed the sick and cast out devils from the oppressed. This Judas has taken his eyes off the eternal, and set his heart on things that will perish. We should all take this as a warning nothing in all the earth is worth our salvation in Christ. And the love of Christ before any man was created, created the tree that would be used to make the cross that they killed Him on. Also Christ protected the families of the men, who betrayed him and his murderers. So He could fulfill what was necessary for our salvation. His precious blood that washed away our sins. Keep in mind Christ is the door to heaven. There is no other way we can enter, stay vigilant, stay firmly on the narrow path. Amen.
