2. The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruthth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5. Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made me with an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
2 Samuel 23:2-5
This book of 2 Samuel written around 1010 B.C. speaks of King David's last prophetic words. Given by the Holy Ghost.
The Rock of Israel is Christ, and He say those that rule over men must be just, ruling with reverence to God's laws.
Now this is a picture of the Messiah, the Christ, King of kings. The greast of all who have walked the earth. The most just, and righteous in every detail, perfect in every area. The true Judge of all the earth.
This is the covenant that God made with David, that one of his offspring would sit on the throne for ever. And it is fulfilled in Christ.
The Son of Righteousness the Light of the world, bringing the Gospel message to the darkness of this world.
And although David's family could not live up to these expectations Christ could.
And David knew salvation in Christ because of this covenant, all the promises of God are yes and let it be so.
And though David did not see it in his lifetime it was a promise from God, and David knew it was sure to happen.
This is how we must see our salvation in Christ do not look around at what is happening Christ is undefeated, His salvation is true, He has won eternal life for all who will trust Him.
Just believe and obey. Amen.
