26. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.27. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.28. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;29. But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.Luke 17:26-30 The evangelist rehearses the words of Christ after the Pharisees demanded to know when the kingdom of God would come. Christ says as in the days of Noah, so shall it be when He returns. People lived their lives, with no concern for the future. As Noah built the ark, he was warning that a flood was coming. Yet none gave it thought, it had never rained before. So Noah was a laughing stock, until it began to rain. And in Lot's time, he is in a place of wickedness. Behavior forbidden by God are an everyday thing. No person having any issues with their behavior, and none fearing judgment. Until Lot left Sodom. And destruction rained down from heaven. Both instances are a picture of the end of days. Many will be living in pleasure and excess, having conformed to this world and to all sins manifested in it. And when Christ comes there will be destruction, but there will also be a reward for the faithful. As God would not destroy the good with the wicked. Christ is our Ark of salvation. There are many of us that have been mocked for our belief in Christ. But Christ has promised us eternal life, and He keeps His promises. Amen.
