3. And he spake this parable unto them saying,4. What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?5. And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.Luke 15:3-7 Christ is followed by publicans and sinners to hear His words. And the Pharisees and scribes, say, this man receives sinners and eats with them. So He begins to teach this parable of the lost sheep. To the Pharisees to convict them, to the sinners to encourage them. And an owner of sheep, if he has lost one, has the right to go find it. Christ, our maker and shepherd, seeks the lost. This is a picture of how few of God's people believed He was the Messiah. So Christ seeks out the believers and ministers to them the Gospel message, and even in our day, few believe. And the home Christ comes home to is heaven, and there is great rejoicing over the salvation of a sinner save from destruction. Christ creator of everything, and us to, does not want to see His work destroyed. Christ says the joy is over a sinner repenting, for the majority of sinners are ungrateful to Christ's work and refuse to leave their sin. Amen.
