Another fascinating place to visit in South Dakota. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but it is amazing what you will find off the beaten path.KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!What are the three sites, you might ask? Visitor Center - we have a museum on the Cold War and a theater where we show the park film and virtual tour programs. Delta-01 is the launch control center where we do tours. These tours are the only thing you have to pay for and book in advance (more on that later). And Delta-09 is the launch facility where the missile was located! No ticket required! And there are NO SIGNS on the interstate for Delta-01 and Delta-09. So you’ll need to know the exit numbers! GPS can get you lost sometimes, so don’t just rely on that. Use I-90 and the exit numbers. Please keep in mind, there is a 15-mile difference between the Visitor Center and the Delta-09 site. So plan according to what direction you’ll be coming from if you don’t want to have to backtrack to see both of the sites. If you are doing the Badlands National Park loop on 240, Delta-09 is just 6 miles east of Wall if you exit the park at Pinnacles, and our Visitor Center is right across the interstate from the Northeast entrance. Photo Description: A map showing a portion of interstate 90 in South Dakota. Badlands National Park stretches south of the interstate. North of that, the three sites of Minuteman Missile National Historic Site are labeled along the interstate. Visitor Center, Delta-01, and Delta-09.
