1. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Psalm 130:1-5
This song may be applied to anyone in distress for help and deliverance. For pardoning grace and mercy.
We cry to the Lord out of the depths of sin. We are polluted guilty creatures. And this is no news to the Almighty. Who sent Christ to save us. This is Holy week. Remember what Christ has done for us. It is foolishness to all who perish, but Christ is our hope. There is no replacement.
None shall stand before the Almighty without Christ. And there are none who are without sin but Christ.
In Him is our salvation, our pardon, our forgiveness. We have been removed from the darkness of destruction. We are not perfect yet.
But the soul waits on Christ, His sacrifice has gained us life eternal. If we have fallen, we have an advocate that stands between us and destruction. For Christ, He paid the debt for sin, He alone is the acceptable sacrifice for sin. There is no other.
Turn this day and trust the Lord Christ the Savior of the world.
Remember this quote from C.H. Spurgeon, "The Lord knows very well that you cannot change your own heart and cannot cleanse your own nature. But He also knows that he can do both."
Amen and Amen.
