"How do we balance the masculine and feminine energies within ourselves?" To have the energies in charge within us is to understand the energies as they manifest within us. We cannot learn about these energies from a book or a teacher, we can only recognize them within ourselves through studying our own interactions with the world around us. Before the hate comments, this has NOTHING to do with physical gender or gender roles!!! The masculine energy is the energy of doing and the feminine energy is the energy of being. The energy of giving and the energy of receiving. The energy of fight and the energy of surrender. The energy of "I care" and the energy of "fuck it". Whenever we get triggered and respond, we are exercising our masculine energy of control. When we get triggered and let go, we are in our feminine energy. But how hard is letting go, right? It's a fight to let go! So, the masculine energy of force must be used to make space for the feminine energy of surrender to manifest into being. This is the symbol of the yin/yang. The masculine is always creating the space for the feminine to exist. The paradoxical fight to surrender is masculine and feminine in balance. The masculine struggle to hold space for the feminine to be at peace and create. For my 80s kids, it's Sloth holding up the rock so the kids can escape. The masculine exists only to make space for the feminine and the feminine exists only to create within the space created by the masculine. Think of the lion and his pride. The lion exists to maintain the territory and defend his pride. It's the females that do the hunting and have the offspring. This is a natural example of yin yang in balance. The masculine creating space for the feminine. It is the same as the Christian notion of the father and son. The father's role is not to train the son. It's to protect and nurture the son and create space for the son to grow and develop and create. The warrior monk is a good example of masculine and feminine in balance. A being of peace at peace whether he is meditating or fighting. This is because he carries the stillness of the divine feminine within him. When we study ourselves, we must learn to differentiate between the two energies to understand how they manifest within us. Only once we learn to recognize them, can we learn to bring them into balance...
