1962 Tempest during a road test. This shows the odd stance that the 1961-1963 Tempests had when thrown into a corner. As weird as this may look, the car was balanced and actually handled quite well. These cars used a rear-mounted transaxle/front-mounted engine giving it near 50/50 weight distribution. Despite the innovation behind the setup, Pontiac abandoned the platform and went with a conventional engine/trans mounted up front in the 1964 Tempest. ***- MCN***
