Mark 14:21-25
Jesus has told the disciples that one of them would betray Him. And they were sad all except Judas. At the moment, Jesus disclosed who it was, Satan immediately entered him.
Now, as the Passover meal concludes, Jesus takes bread and breaks it, as His body was broken for us, and says, take and eat. After Christ took the cup and after giving thanks, He gave them to drink.
This instituting a new feast, a new contract between God and men, where Christ pays for our sins, with His life, His very blood, making atonement, for every believer. And securing eternal life with Him.
In Christ's own words, He goes to this death willingly. But He says woe to the man, whose sin will not be excused. Psalm 109:8, Let his days be few, and let another take his office.
Let us be faithful followers and not traitors to Jesus who died in our place. Amen.
