1. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3. Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4. He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Psalm 24:1-5
The earth belongs to Christ, He created it when He created the universe and all it contains. So Christ holds the deed to everything that is on the earth, human, animal, plant, and minerals.
Christ founded the earth and sea out of nothing, yet they are stable and firm. Christ's has control over the seas that they may not return and cover the earth.
Christ's rightful claim to the earth and all it contains is not a gift to Him by His Father, Christ being the Mediator between God and men, but by Him creating it, and by holding all things together by His power.
The questions who shall ascend to God or who shall stand in His holy place, the answer come in the next verse, which excludes everyone of us. Seeing we have not a pure heart, nor clean hands, prior to our experience with Christ.
Christ knows our heart is wicked, we are sinners, and can not come near Him because we are defiled by sin.
So Christ became a man and paid the price we could not. For He came and lived without sin the whole time He was here.
Now, because of His sacrifice, we can receive the blessings and promises of God, being covered in Christ's righteousness, and we have been pardoned, forgiven, and have received salvation through Christ our Lord.
Therefore, we love Him because He first loved us. Amen.
