22. And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.23. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.24. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.25. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.26. And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.Mark 8:22-26 Christ enters a town, and the residents bring a blind man and tell Jesus put your hands on him and heal him. These were not followers nor believers. They did this to see Him fail. Now, this man is a picture of all who are spiritually blind. The man had no sight, such are all before meeting Christ. All have a dark nature until they are made light by our Lord Jesus. Lost in a dangerous state of sin. Having no knowledge of Christ nor the glory of His person. Having no care for salvation or thought of what comes after death. The first thing Christ does is take his hand as a guide and leads him out of the darkness and disbelief of those in the city. Christ uses what is necessary to bring us to Him. Just as a sinner is not made perfect when he first believes, so, this man is a picture of the process. The spit the Gospel message coming out of the mouth of Christ, he sees men as trees, the fault is not with Christ, the man needed more time with Jesus, just like the rest of us, and with prayer and reading and opening our heart to Christ we begin to see clearly. Now Christ tells the man not to go back there. When you are in the light, the people in darkness will be a snare and an obstruction to your sight. We need to get further into the light closer to Christ, making time for Him, He is our place of safety. Not everyone wants to be saved. If you are seeking salvation that is a work of the Holy Ghost, He will lead you to Christ. Amen.
