In our earthly life, it is difficult to remember that we are souls and not simple physical bodies. We are constantly distracted by the illusions and disappointments of this world. They teach us that money, power, prestige and material possessions are of the utmost importance. And sometimes even, the engine of our lives. They teach us that in order to be happy we have to get others to appreciate and respect us. To be alone, they tell us, is to be unhappy. In reality, we are immortal beings who never separate energetically from those they love. We have soul mates and spiritual families that are eternal. The guardian spirits guide us and always love us. We are never alone. When we die, we don't take the "things" we have. We take our deeds and our deeds, the fruits of the wisdom of our heart.
